You have to deal with your hurt before you can help those who are hurting.
1 Thess. 2:8, “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.
Takeaway: You can't love at a distance and you can't disciple at a distance.
Action Step: Examine what roadblocks are keeping you from loving others well.

As a retired DM pastor I too learned the reality and challenges of being a friend and an under-shepherd to those in the church. 1 Thes. 2:8 was a hallmark verse for me instead serving and leading others. Thank you for this and all your other podcasts. Michael Alfieri
