7 Habits of a Disciple

Habits help us because; You can’t rush intimacy. 

Intentional habits + intimate time can help lead us to an intimate relationship. 

 

Luke 2:52, “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God & man.” 

 

  1. Assurance of Salvation / Gospel - The Gospel you preach determines the kind of disciple you will make. -Bill Hull
  2. Quiet Time m 
  3. Prayer
  4. Witnessing 
  5. Fellowship
  6. Scripture Memory
  7. Bible Study

 

Takeaway: Intentional habits + intimate time can help lead us to an intimate relationship

Action Step: Evaluate your intimacy level with God by doing an intentional habit inventory.

You have to deal with your hurt before you can help those who are hurting.

 

1 Thess. 2:8, “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.

Abiding As a Disciple

In this week's episode, Tony and Justin talk about what it means to stay in the truth when we follow Jesus! 

 

The branch doesn’t exist for itself, but to bear fruit for the vine.

 

John 15:1, “I am the true vine, and my father is the gardener.”

 

John 15:5, “I am the vine you are the branches if a man remains in me and I in him he will bear much fruit, apart from me you can do nothing.” 

 

Essentials for Abiding - (Disciplines)

  1. Scripture Meditation/reflection
  2. Prayer
  3. The Church/Community/Fellowship

 

Takeaway: As a disciple our first task is to abide.

 

Action Step: Assess and look to improve one of your Abiding Essentials.
